Former “Baywatch” child star Jeremy Jackson was arrested last weekend for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed a man in the torso.

The Los Angeles County Police Department told TheWrap that Jackson — who recently appeared on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab” to battle his drug and alcohol abuse issues — was apprehended when police were called to investigate an attempted break-in on Saturday morning. The burglar was allegedly Jackson, whom police were seeking in connection with a stabbing that occurred early Friday.

Jackson was booked on Saturday; an LAPD spokesperson could not confirm whether he was released on bail. Jackson was not charged with breaking and entering.

The actor claims both the break-in and the stabbing were related, and the injury was sustained in self-defense. Jackson said a man attempted to beat and rob him at a party he threw at an Airbnb rental in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to TMZ. The break-in happened the next day when Jackson returned to retrieve some personal belongings and had to force his way in, he claims.

Police said a verbal dispute occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Friday, during which Jackson allegedly removed a knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim. Early the next morning, police were called to investigate a burglary in the same area, and the suspect happened to be Jackson.

According to the LA Times, the victim identified Jackson as “Hobie,” the name of his “Baywatch” character. Jackson played Hobie Buchannon, son of David Hasselhoff‘s Mitch Buchannon, for eight seasons of the popular syndicated series.

Jackson was a cast member on the British version of “Celebrity Big Brother” earlier this year, but was ousted from the show when he allegedly groped housemate Chloe Goodman’s breasts.
