Ben Affleck would not only love to direct a female-led film, but he would love to direct ex-wife Jennifer Garner — there’s only one problem.

“I would love to, are you kidding me?” Affleck told People. “I think that would be great. I’ve often said that I want to direct a movie that Jennifer was in because I think she’s so great and she could do something really cool.”

He added, “The problem that gets in the way is that one of us has to be looking after the kids at home.”

The couple, amid divorce, has three kids: Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5. Garner and Affleck costarred in 2003’s “Daredevil.”

The celebrity couple officially filed for divorce last month, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Affleck and Garner, who married in June 2006, announced their split in 2015.

In a joint statement at the time, the couple said, “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

However, the couple appears to have remained on friendly grounds since the split. In March, while announcing that he had completed treatment for alcohol addiction, Affleck cited Garner’s support.
