Black Mirror Season 7 Photos Tease USS Callister Sequel

One of the most disturbing shows on television is finally returning, and Netflix dropped a first look at what fans can expect. “Black Mirror” Season 7 will premiere six new episodes on April 10.

In addition to unveiling a trailer that highlights the madness planned for the weeks to come, the streamer also shared 22 first-look photos from this upcoming season. Eagle-eyed fans are sure to get excited over this batch. Cristin Milioti appears multiple times as Lieutenant Cole, the role she played in the Emmy-winning “USS Callister.” Additionally, “Bandersnatch” star Will Poulter also appears in this crop of photos, sporting facial hair, an angry expression and a CD-ROM. Based on this photo, the trailer and the many 8-bit figures that accompany Netflix’s promotion of this new season, it seems as though Poulter’s acclaimed game designer Colin Ritman will be returning. He first appeared in Netflix’s 2018 interactive movie, “Bandersnatch.” As for what the rest of these photos mean, fans will have to wait until April to discover those particular existential horrors.

Originally created by Charlie Brooker for Channel 4, “Black Mirror” has gained such a rabid cult following that it’s become a genre unto itself. Each episode of the anthology series tells a self-contained story that explores the intersections between technology and humanity.

Some of them are romantic, like “San Junipero” and “Hang the DJ.” Others feel more like action-packed adventures like “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.” Still others are just downright disturbing, like “White Christmas” or “Shut Up and Dance.” But nearly all of them are hauntingly relevant to the modern headaches around video games, AI and technology in general.
