“Drunk History,” which counts Will Ferrell and Adam McKay among its executive producers, pairs inebriated storytellers with A-list talent on a tour of cities across America, providing a unique reenactment of the familiar and less familiar people and events from our country’s great past. The current second season of the series is up 26 percent among the 18-49 demographic most important to advertisers versus its first run, and up 17 percent among total viewers.

“Nathan for You” stars Nathan Fielder as he attempts to make small businesses profitable with highly unorthodox marketing tactics. So far, four weeks into its second season, “Nathan” is up nearly 50 percent in the demo and 34 percent in total viewers compared to its maiden voyage.

Of the renewals, Alterman joked, “Is there any comedy well deeper to draw from than history and business marketing?”
