“The O.C.” alum Ben McKenzie will soon join real-life wife Morena Baccarin in the Season 2 premiere of “Sheriff Country,” guest starring when the CBS procedural returns this fall.
Baccarin stars as Sheriff Mickey Fox, the straight-shooting sheriff patrolling the small town of Edgewater, California, in the drama series. Her actor husband will appear as Sheriff Wade, a neighboring sheriff who is called in to assist Mickey, in the season premiere on Oct. 9.
Baccarin posted a video with her husband in matching sheriff’s uniforms on Instagram to commemorate the milestone moment on Monday.
The season premiere will see Sheriff Mickey Fox race to save a troubled young woman whose descent into a dangerous criminal operation uncovers a growing threat to Edgewater at large. Sheriff Wade comes in to assist the operation but also has a few secrets of his own.
Season 2 of “Sheriff Country” will premiere Friday, Oct. 9, on CBS. The episode will also stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium plan subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the following day.
“Sheriff Country” is the first spinoff of “Fire Country.” The series stars Baccarin, Matt Lauria, Michele Weaver, W. Earl Brown and Christopher Gorham. The spinoff is executive produced by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Matt Lopez; and Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
