A new week means a new crop of shows landing on streaming services that are worth checking out.
For this week, the genres are wide-ranging from a legacy sequel of a beloved show from the ’90s, to the second season of another great Apple TV sci-fi show. If neither of those are your bag, perhaps checking in with five twentysomethings living together in New York is more your speed. The offerings are eclectic this week and more than one is worth a binge.
Here are the five new shows streaming this week that should be checked out.

Adults
One of the newest shows to put living as a twentysomething in a big city under a microscope is back for a second season. “Adults” is returning with more focus as the five roommates sharing a roof in Queens continue to battle all the great and horrific problems of someone in their early adult years. Love triangles, bad dates and general housemate concerns are all top of mind in the second season of this FX series.

Leanne
Hankering for a multicam sitcom in 2026 can be a debilitating experience but luckily, one of the best new entries to the genre is back for a second season. “Leanne” – hailing from sitcom guru Chuck Lorre – is back as the titular character continues to navigate life after the end of a relationship that lasted more than three decades. The first season of the Netflix series proved to be a monster, which means anticipation for its return is likely through the roof – and with good reason.

Dark Matter
The second season of Apple TV’s hit sci-fi adaptation finally returns to the streamer. Fans of both Season 1 and the Blake Crouch novel on which it’s based have a lot to be excited about with the new season, largely because the story is moving beyond the bounds of the book. The Dessen family used the machine to try to start their lives over in a new world, but have found themselves on the run. Anyone who wanted more from the story after closing the book on “Dark Matter” is finally getting what they want.

The Varnell Hill Show
“Martin” is finally getting the legacy sequel treatment after almost three decades. “The Varnell Hill Show” lands on Paramount+ this week and follows the titular character, played by Tommy Davidson, running his late night show introduced back on “Martin” and facing pressures from the network to modernize the program. Martin Lawrence is also going to reprise his “Martin” role in a special guest appearance on the new series.

Jeopardy! Masters
“Jeopardy!” lovers rejoice. Another spinoff from the hit quiz show is landing this week. This one’s hook is that the contestants are some of the best of the best. If you’re looking to compete with the best the show has to offer from the comfort of your couch, then there won’t be a better use of your time than “Jeopardy! Masters.”
