“Vampire Diaries” alum Malese Jow has joined the superhero series and will recur as the DC Comics character Linda Park, a quick-witted journalist who befriends up-and-coming reporter Iris (Candice Patton). She’s also said to meet The Flash’s alter-ego Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) at a bar, with the two of them hitting it off.

Linda first appears on Episode 112.

In “The Flash” comics, Linda starts off as Wally West’s — aka Kid Flash — girlfriend and later becomes her wife. Wally has not yet been introduced in the series.

Jow, only 23, has already spent a significant portion of her career working for the CW. In addition to playing Anna on 18 episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” she portrayed Julia Yeung on the network’s short-lived sci-fi romance “Star-Crossed,” which was cancelled in May. Jow also appeared in David Fincher‘s 2010 film “The Social Network.”

Sweeney Entertainment and Jordan McKirahan Talent Agency represent Jow.

“The Flash” has only aired three episodes to date, but so far it hasn’t had trouble wooing talent. Other notable TV veterans cast this season on the “Arrow” spin-off include “Prison Break’s” Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Captain Cold and Heatwave, “The Tomorrow People’s” Robbie Amell as Firestorm and “Smash’s” Andy Mientus as the Pied Piper.
