Herschel Walker Finally Responds to Son’s Accusations: ‘You Can Make Mistakes’ and Then Be ‘Redeemed’ (Video)

“I’m living proof that you can make mistakes, get up, and keep going forward,” the Republican Senate candidate of Georgia said

Herschel Walker told “Fox & Friends” he’s been “redeemed” Wednesday when pressed on his son’s accusations that he’s lying about paying for a former girlfriend’s abortion and his so-called “family values.”

“People see someone sitting in front of you right now that’s been redeemed,” Walker told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade. “And I want America to know: I’m living proof that you can make mistakes, get up, and keep going forward. But you can only do it in this country right here, and you can only do it if we get this election correct this coming November.”

The former athlete’s comments are the next hit in the saga between Walker and his son, Christian Walker, the conservative influencer who accused his father of lying when the Republican Senate candidate of Georgia denied that he paid for a former girlfriend’s abortion in 2009, as reported by The Daily Beast Monday. The pro-life politician was accused of giving the unnamed former girlfriend a $700 check and a get-well soon card.

While Christian Walker first vaguely accused his father of lying on Monday, saying “I know my mom and I would really appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mockery of us,” he called out the former football player explicitly in a video posted to Twitter Tuesday, saying he’s lying.

“The abortion part drops yesterday, it’s literally his handwriting in the card, they say they have receipts, whatever, he gets on Twitter, he lies about it,” Christian said in a video posted online. “OK, I’m done. Done. Everything has been a lie.”

When Kilmeade pushed the candidate on the “tremendous damage” his son is doing to him, Herschel Walker responded by saying, “The damage he’s doing, he’s letting people know that the left will do whatever they can to win this seat, and I told you when I got in this race I’m gonna win this seat.”
