Ratings: Surprise Golden Globe Nominee ‘Jane the Virgin’ Hits Highs in Fall Finale

Fox finishes fifth with soft “American Country Countdown Awards”

The CW

Perhaps, we’ve officially hit the over-saturation point with country music awards shows: Fox finished fifth in primetime ratings last night with its “American Country Countdown Awards.” The evening was down pretty significantly from 2013, managing just a 0.9 in the key demo Monday versus a 1.4 last year.

The CW had some more good news out of “Jane the Virgin.” The surprise Golden Globe-nominated comedy hit a high with its fall finale. Still, the show’s 0.6 rating wasn’t good enough to take its network out of the basement — the CW finished seventh in the demo and in total viewers on Monday.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.4 rating/7 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 10.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” at 8 p.m. earned night-highs of a 2.9/9 and 12.2 million viewers in its performance finale, which was slightly down from last year. “State of Affairs” at 10 received a 1.6/5 and 6.5 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.8/6 and in viewers with 9.1 million. At 8, “2 Broke Girls” received a 2.1/7 and 7.8 million viewers. “Mike & Molly” at 8:30 had a 1.8/5 and 7.9 million viewers. “Scorpion” at 9 pulled in a 2.0/6 and 9.9 million viewers. “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 10 got a 1.6/5 and 9.5 million viewers. CBS was likely somewhat aided by an NFL preemption in Chicago; the network’s numbers are thus approximate and subject to change.
