Most people are long since retired by the age of 81, but Joan Rivers continued doling out her patented uncouth barbs and witticisms until just days before she died Thursday. She skewered red carpet starlets strutting down the Emmys and MTV Video Music Awards carpets on the Aug. 26 episode of her E! show “Fashion Police,” which also stars co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and George Kotsiopoulos.
Rivers showed no mercy to Amber Rose and the revealing Laura Dewitt chain dress she wore to the Aug. 24th VMAs. “Amber’s outfit is almost as tacky as Amber’s seat was when she got up at the end of the show — what was she thinking!?” asked the late comedian while shaking her head. “I thought when I saw this, maybe it’s not chain, maybe we’re all wrong here…maybe it’s made of transvaginal mesh we’ve been hearing about. So maybe this lucky bitch has a lawsuit, go for it Amber! Go for it!”

The hip octogenarian welcomed British chanteuse Jessie J, who performed “Bang Bang” with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande at the VMAs. But Rivers was more concerned with the recording process: “How could you fit in [the studio] with Nicki’s fat ass?” she asks in the clip below.

For the “Fashion Police” game of Emmys “Spit it Out,” the panel wrote down their gut reactions to rather interesting red carpet fashion choices. True to form, Rivers was by far the most bawdy and hilarious. For Keke Palmer‘s side-boob revealing Rubin Singer dress Rivers drew a picture of an empty upside down glass, joking she had “not seen cups this empty since I did shots with Tina Lohan.”
Her next target was actor Jackie Chan, who didn’t even attend the show. Describing Taryn Manning‘s short dress, she said everyone needed to “check the hem, the dress is just like Jackie Chan‘s penis, it needs two more inches.” See those jabs in the video up top.
Up until the very end Rivers was neither refined nor politically correct, but that’s exactly what was loved most about her.
