“American Crime” showrunner John Ridley is developing a new series with Marvel at ABC, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.

The project will be Ridley’s second under the “12 Years a Slave” writer’s overall deal at the network and the fourth Marvel series on air or in the works at its Disney sister company.

In addition to “Agents of SHIELD” and its spinoff “Agent Carter,” TheWrap reported earlier this month that ABC was developing a second “SHIELD” companion series with that series’ executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski. Like that project, Ridley’s series will follow an as-yet unnamed Marvel character.

As is often the case with projects within the comic book studio, details are being held closely under wraps.

Representatives for Marvel would not comment on a new series or Ridley’s involvement.

Entertainment Weekly was first to report the development.
