Andy Cohen does not condone drunk driving by any means — especially for the fourth offense — but that doesn’t mean he’s happy to see one of his “Real Housewives” stars suffer so publicly.

“The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger was sentenced to one year in prison (with a second year suspended) and five years’ probation for her 2024 DUI incident last week. As such, the TV personality formerly known as the “Grande Dame” was forced to skip the “RHOP” Season 9 reunion after she entered rehab, the final episode of which aired Sunday night on Bravo.

“We have not been on since Karen was sentenced, and I don’t have much to say,” Cohen said on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live” on Monday morning. “I will say, I am thinking of Karen every day. I’ve been thinking about her a lot and I’m so sad about this. I’m so sad about how this entire thing has played out.”

“I am a Karen fan. Drunk driving is no joke. It’s so bad, so that this was her fourth situation was tough to hear and I’m not surprised that the judge was not playing, you know? I’m not surprised at all,” he continued. “And then hearing what I heard on the reunion last night from Gizelle [Bryant], who said that she heard that she was offered a plea and home confinement for six months — who were her lawyers that were recommending to go to trial on this when they knew there was body cam footage like that? I mean, it’s so sad.”

Huger’s team did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

The reality star was found guilty by a Montgomery County jury on five of six charges that were filed against her — including driving under the influence, failure to control speed, negligent driving and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was ultimately found not guilty of reckless driving.

“I’m not an alcoholic, let’s be clear,” Huger said in one of two videos that she pre-recorded for the three-part reunion. “I accept full responsibility for everything that went on with my car accident. I don’t care about me right now. I care about my children, I care about my family. They are so hurt.”

As it currently stands, Huger is still expected to take part in “Real Housewives of Potomac” Season 10. The first nine seasons are available to stream on Peacock.
