Kathryn Reed Altman, widow of filmmaker Robert Altman, died on Wednesday at the age of 91.

The former showgirl and occasional actress died of a heart attack in her Santa Monica, California, home, nearly a decade after the death of her husband in November 2006.

She was married to the director for 46 years, in which time he received seven Oscar nominations and an Honorary Academy Award for his work on films including “M*A*S*H,” “The Player” and “Gosford Park.”

After her husband’s death, Altman worked to preserve his legacy, publishing the memoir “Altman” in 2014 with Giulia D’Agnolo Vallan, and appearing the Ron Mann’s 2014 documentary about the director.

Altman is survived by her six children and step-children, as well as 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
