‘Law & Order: SVU’ Renewed for 16th Season

Current season averaging a 2.5 rating

Dummdumm: NBC has renewed “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for a 16th season.

The beloved police procedural, the last man standing in Dick Wolf‘s storied franchise, is averaging a respectable 2.5 rating in the key 18-49 demographic in its current season.

The show, starring Mariska Hargitay, earns steady buzz for its trademark twists on topical storylines and special guests like Alec Baldwin, who this season played a sleazy journalist.

“Law & Order: SVU” is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Wolf is creator and executive producer, and Warren Leight, Julie Martin, Jonathan Starch and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.
