Showtime’s ‘Homeland’ Adds ‘Life of Pi’ Star to Cast

Suraj Sharma joins other new additions Laila Robins and Corey Stoll

The Showtime drama “Homeland” continues to add to its ranks as the series prepares for its fourth season.

“Life of Pi” star Suraj Sharma has been cast in the upcoming season of the CIA drama, an individual with knowledge of the casting told TheWrap on Thursday.

Sharma, who currently appears in the film “Million Dollar Arm,” will play Aayan Ibrahim, a Pakistani medical student who crosses paths with Claire Danes‘ Carrie Mathison character.

Earlier this week, the CIA drama cast Laila Robins (“In Treatment”) and Corey Stoll (“House of Cards”). Robins will play Martha Boyd, a U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, while Stoll will guest-star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA chief of station in Pakistan.

The fourth season of “Homeland” begins production this month in Cape Town, South Africa.
