Missing Fox executive Gavin Smith, who disappeared from an Oak Park, Calif. home two years ago, has been declared dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“A judge has ruled a death certificate for Gavin,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Dolson told a local NBC station.
“He died on the night of his disappearance,” Dolson said.
Dolson also said authorities have identified a person of interest in connection with the 57-year-old’s homicide, although the cause of death and location of his body remain unknown.
The Sheriff’s Department had no further information available when contacted by TheWrap, but is working to confirm Dolson’s comments.
