Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn might make a great duo on “True Detective’s” second season but they’ll never be as good as the Dream Team of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.
With the help of Bleacher Report, the former NBA All-Stars are trying their best to convince producers of the HBO series to cast them in the lead roles for Season 3. The athletes, who are no stranger to TV themselves, go back and forth reading lines originally delivered by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson‘s characters in Season 1.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to get the Yellow King,” O’Neal monotonously says in the video audition.
Barkley is a bit livelier as he looks in the camera and says, “Once, there was always dark. If you ask me, the light is winning.”
O’Neal admitted that he views himself playing the McConaughey role since he’s “sexier,” while “Inside the NBA” analyst Barkley agreed that he’s better suited to play Harrelson’s character since they’re both bald.
