NBC has ordered two pilots from Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television with producers from “How I Met Your Mother” and film “The Wedding Ringer.”

From Universal and Will Packer Productions, executive producer/writer DJ Nash (“‘Til Death”) and executive producer Packer (“The Wedding Ringer,” “Ride Along”), comes “People are Talking.” The comedy examines sex, race and everything else parents told youth to never talk about.

And from Sony Pictures Television and 3 Arts, “Take It From Us” follows a couple telling their son about the lessons they learned in the 90s in hopes that he’ll avoid making similar mistakes. Greg Malins (“How I Met Your Mother, “Friends”) and Barry Schwartz signed on as executive producers and writers. Jonathan Berry will serve as another executive producer.

Both comedies are multi-cam.

TheWrap previously reported three other comedy pilots the network ordered last week: “How We Live” following a blogger who discovers the mating rituals of his neighbors and friends; an untitled multi-cam project from Universal TV, Sean Hayes and Hazy Mills about two empty-nesters who allow their two adult daughters to move back home; and “Superstore” where employees at a big box store who learn there’s more to life than their mediocre jobs.

NBC has been looking to spruce up its comedy slate after canceling “Bad Judge” and “A to Z” earlier this season. “About a Boy” is also on the bubble.
