New Aidikoff Screening Room Owner Eyes West LA Theater Expansion

SSG rebrands 150 S. Rodeo Dr. as the Rodeo Screening Room, plans to open the Sepulveda Screening Room

Screening Services Group, the company that has taken control over the location of the former Charles Aidikoff Screening Room, is expanding in the fall to an entirely new location in West LA that will operate as the Sepulveda Screening Room, TheWrap has learned.

The development will likely come as good news to press and industry members working or living on the westside.

SSG recently rechristened the Aidikoff Screening Room as the Rodeo Screening Room, which will no doubt be a popular venue this awards season. The company told TheWrap it will be making exciting changes to the Rodeo Screening Room location, whose walls are no longer adorned with Aidikoff’s many photos of celebrities from both the past and present.

Subject to city approval, SSG will be improving the Rodeo Screening Room’s sight lines, which along with sound quality, was the main criticism when it was operated by the Aidikoff family.

SSG has been in charge of the Wilshire Screening Room for over 12 years, and assumed control over the Beverly Hills screening room at 150 S. Rodeo Dr. on Sept. 1.

The Sepulveda Screening Room, which is off of Santa Monica Blvd., will be SSG’s largest, holding 65-69 seats, while both the Rodeo and Wilshire screening room hold only 49-56 seats.

The beloved Charles Aidikoff Screening Room closed its doors on July 28 due to a court order stemming from a dispute over the lease.
