Oscars Producer Michael B. Seligman Opens Event Service (Exclusive)

Long credited on shows including the Academy Awards and the Emmys, Seligman’s event consulting company has a flagship customer in Chrysler

Longtime entertainment veteran and Academy Awards producer Michael B. Seligman is breaking into special events consultancy, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

Under his banner Seligman Entertainment, the newly formed division aims to increase the visibility of brands, corporations and global non-profit organizations.

“With our unparalleled passion for our work, we have achieved a reputation for producing extremely high quality and enormously popular global televised events that have become staples of American culture,” Mr. Seligman said.

“Our team’s enthusiasm is reflected in the scores of events and programs we have staged over many years, from presidential inaugurals to the biggest nights in entertainment. Now we are incredibly excited to be able to extend our knowledge to many other sectors.”

The new division’s flagship event will be the annual Chrysler dealer’s meeting this September in Las Vegas.

Seligman has spent 38 years with the Oscars and 17 years with the Primetime Emmys in roles including executive producer, supervising producer, producer and associate producer. He’s largely credited with introducing the presenters gift basket to the Oscar ceremony, effectively luring big name stars to hand out trophies.

Other Seligman credits include the American Film Insititute‘s AFI Awards, Stand Up to Cancer, JP Morgan Chase’s American Giving Awards, Mississippi Rising Concert benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims and Presidential galas and the inaugurations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
