‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Teaser Trailer: The Pogues Embrace Paradise in Poguelandia (Video)

John B, Sara, Kiara, JJ and Pope are back and better than ever

In a brand new teaser trailer that just dropped, the Pogues are back in town for Season 3 of “Outer Banks.” But, they have a different home base this time — Poguelandia.

John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ and Pope enjoy their self-titled paradise alongside newcomer Cleo, who bonded with the group during their most recent voyage to Nassau. While the crew seems to be stranded on a deserted island, they certainly make the most out of their solitude by playing handmade checkers, enjoying tropical fruit and even putting up a flag to mark their Poguelandia community.

It’s not all woven hats and sunbathing, though, as the crew must learn to hunt for food and escape predators before returning to pick back up their heavily fought treasure hunt on the mainland.

“My pops always said, ‘Nothing good comes easy,’ ‘Nothing worthy is given,’” John B’s voice echoes. “The question is, ‘What are you willing to do to win? How far will you go to get your treasure?’”

Despite their interlude in Poguelandia, it’s clear that danger is afoot when they return to clean up the mess they made while still claiming their stake in the treasure.

The third season of the teen hit will reunite the Pogues with their former friends and foes, including Rafe Cameron, played by Drew Starkey, Carla Limbrey, played by Elizabeth Mitchell and Ward Cameron, played by Charles Esten.

As for other major plot points in the next installment, co-creator Josh Pate told Entertainment Weekly the third season will center on John B’s relationship with his dad after the major Season 2 reveal that Big John was still alive.

“John B’s relationship with his dad is a huge theme and having his dad back around, and eventually they’re going to meet back up and John B has to reconcile his idealized version of his dead dad with the reality of his alive dad,” Pate said.

Love is also in the air, as season 2 left off with Sarah and John B getting married. Now the newlyweds — and fugitives — learn their decision to get hitched has some unexpected consequences. Carlacia Grant previously teased a budding romance between Cleo and another Pogue to TheWrap, one that was apparently hinted at during Season 2.
