The iconic La Toya Jackson embarks on whole new experiences on the new season of OWN’s “Life With La Toya.”
On Season 1, La Toya put herself back on the market and started dating again. That went OK, but it would definitely shape what was to come on Season 2.
For the first time, La Toya will begin counseling to discuss some of the ways her abusive marriage from more than two decades ago still affects her.

“I had this thing about men,” La Toya told TheWrap during the latest episode of Drinking With the Stars at Mixology in Los Angeles.
“Ever since my marriage, which was 20-something years ago, I wanted nothing to do with men. So, they tried to tell me and show me, which the counselor did, that all men are not alike. Just because he abused you and controlled you doesn’t mean the next guy is going do the same thing. And it opened up a whole new mind for me.”
La Toya’s dating last season also ignited some new feelings in her longtime friend and business partner Jeffre Phillips.

“I noticed a change in Jeffre,” La Toya explained. “I noticed he started asking lots of questions, he started tweeting, texting, everything, texting me where am I? What did you do with him? You kissed him, did you do all these things? And I thought, OK, business partner, best friend, you’re jealous.”
Jeffre even goes so far as to ask her father, Joe Jackson, for his blessing before proposing to her.
