Raven-Symone Explains Her Return for ‘Raven’s Home’: ‘This Is My Family’ (Exclusive Video)

“I wanted to come back to Disney Channel and create again,” star says about “That’s So Raven” spinoff

Raven-Symoné likes what she sees in her future.

The actress is back in her signature role of Raven Baxter for Disney Channel’s “Raven’s Home,” a spinoff of her popular show “That’s So Raven.” The new version launches Friday and focuses on Raven and pal Chelsea Daniels (Anneliese van der Pol), who are both single moms and raising their children in a house together.

“I wanted to come back to Disney Channel and create again because this is my home,” Raven-Symoné says in a video interview exclusive to TheWrap. “This is my family.”

The former co-host of “The View” believes that there are a few reasons why fans connected with “That’s So Raven,” which signed off in November 2007 after four seasons.

“One, because of the age bracket that they were watching it at,” she says. “We got you at a very interesting age where things might have been changing — you were going into a new school, you were young, everything was different and you were trying to find your way.”

Isaac Ryan Brown plays Raven’s son, Booker, who turns out to have the same psychic abilities as his mom. The young actor explains in the video above that the star kept the cast laughing: “I get on the set, and she was hilarious!”

“Raven’s Home” launches Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Disney Channel. New episodes will on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET beginning July 28.
