“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is doubling down on soap divas.
The Bravo series has tapped “Young and the Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” actress Eileen Davidson as a cast member, an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap.
Davidson will join a Season 5 group that also includes the recently added Lisa Rinna, who like Davidson also logged considerable time on NBC soap opera and holdovers Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi Glanville, Kyle Richards, Kim Richards and Yolanda Foster.
The new pair fill a gap created by the departures of one-and-done cast members Joyce Giraud and Carlton Gebbia.
Davidson is joining the hit Bravo reality series on the heels of her recent Daytime Emmy win in the Outstanding Lead Actress category for her portrayal of the villainous Kristen DiMera on “Days.” She returns to the NBC role this summer with a vengeance — her character fled town earlier this year after drugging and raping her fiance Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) half brother, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn). Did we mention Eric was a priest and Kristen videotaped the whole tryst which subsequently got played in the church just as she was about to wed Brady?
So how on earth will the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” drama top Davidson’s soap drama. Two words: Brandi Glanville.
A spokeswoman for Bravo had no comment for TheWrap.
