See Jared Leto’s Joker Look for ‘Suicide Squad’ (Photo)

Tweeted photo doubles as an homage to a special DC comic book

Jared Leto‘s beautiful brunette locks are gone in favor of a close-cropped green hairdo. But don’t fret, it’s all one big joke — er, Joker.

The actor is inhabiting the role of Batman’s clown-like nemesis for the upcoming film “Suicide Squad.” Writer-director David Ayer posted the photo of Leto on Friday with hashtags #WhereIsJared and #SuicideSquad. The first hashtag is a reference to a cast photo Ayer tweeted out on Wednesday, which didn’t include Leto. The second — well that one is obvious, isn’t it?

Leto may have taken the first photo, which included Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis and Ike Barinholtz, among others. He certainly proved that he owns a camera in Ayer’s Friday offering, which doubles as an homage to the cover of classic Joker origin comic “Batman: The Killing Joke.”

Ayer’s film follows a group of supervillains who are forced to team up and help the government, as represented by Amanda Waller (Davis). TheWrap first reported the castings of both Leto and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who will play Killer Croc.
