Sherri Shepherd Disses ‘View’ Over Elisabeth Hasselbeck Exit: ‘She Took 30 Percent of the Audience’ (Video)

The two former co-hosts reunite during Hasselbeck’s return to “Fox & Friends”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s return to “Fox & Friends” on Friday featured a mini “View” reunion. Former co-host Sherri Shepherd surprised Hasselbeck live on-air, with the two embracing each other for an extended period of time.

“Break it up, you two. We’ve got a show to do,” said host Steve Doocy.

Even when seated on the show’s curvy couch, Shepherd and Hasselbeck shared several hugs while expressing their gratitude for one another. Shepherd then took a shot at their former talk show, saying: “You don’t want to come back to ‘The View?’ Because the girl took 30 percent of the audience when she left ‘The View.’ And she brought them over here. They need the 30 percent back.”

It should be noted that despite Shepherd’s comments, “The View’s” ratings have not gone down by double digits in any demos since Hasselbeck left the show in 2013.

Shepherd later got into an awkward exchange with Doocy after he asked her if she was wearing one of the wigs from her wig line, Luxhair Now.

“That’s something you never ask a woman,” Shepherd told Doocy, before promising to send him some wigs that he could wear.

As TheWrap previously reported, Hasselbeck revealed the reason for her absence was due to an abdominal tumor that required surgery. On Friday, she explained that the results came back as benign and that she is cancer-free.
