TheWrap Presents Bill Pullman’s ‘Independence Day’ Speech (Video)

Happy Fourth of July, Hollywood

For the Fourth of July, TheWrap reenacts one of the most iconic moments in American history.

From 1996’s “Independence Day,” President Whitmore’s (Bill Pullman) address to a nation, a world, a universe in which he details how America is the lone protector of all that is fair and just on earth.

Watch as TheWrap staff tries to bring some justice to the words that remind us that a beer and a hot dog on Fourth of July weekend is the result of brave actions by brave men against outside forces that just want to hate-o-rate all over American ideals.

Watch the video above.

Have a great Independence Day!
