For starters, Shaw warns that this year’s film events are lacking.

“The big studios either aren’t down there or aren’t there with the things that get you really excited,” Shaw said, adding that most studios are bringing fewer movies and participating in shorter panels.

Warner Bros. showed up in full-force last year, revealing their plan for “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” and subsequent films. This year, Shaw noted, they’re bringing “Mad Max” and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.”

On the TV side, Nededog cited Starz’s “Outlander” as a show to watch out for.

“‘Outlander” is treating Comic-Con like its coming out party,” Nededog said, noting that they’ll be having a red carpet, a panel and a screening.

Warner Bros. and DC have also teamed up to host a star-studded party on Saturday and will screen the highly-anticipated “Gotham.”

Though Marvel has little to show in film — They teased the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron” last year — the panel for their show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will also include the producers for TV movie “Agent Carter.”

“We have no idea what they’re going to do with this sort of movie/spin-off,” Nededog said.
