‘Trading Spaces’: Ty Pennington Returns for Reboot in First Promo (Video)

Paige Davis is back to host TLC’s renovation series that airs new season next spring

Ty Pennington is among the “Trading Spaces” alums joining host Paige Davis in TLC’s reboot of the home-makeover series, the network announced Wednesday.

Pennington, also known for hosting “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” appears in the first promo that was released Wednesday, as do fellow returning designers Doug Wilson, Carter Oosterhouse, Frank Bielec, Genevieve Gorder, Hildi Santo-Tomas, Laurie Smith and Vern Yip. Davis’ return had been previously announced for the new season of “Spaces” that is set to premiere in Spring 2018.

“We’re getting the band back together,” Pennington says in the footage. “I’m so excited to see some of their faces. I mean, I haven’t some of these people literally in decades.”

The unscripted series, focused on neighbors redecorating a room in each other’s home, aired for eight seasons before signing off in December 2008. A roster of new design experts and carpenters will also take part in the updated version.
