Whoopi Goldberg is set to appear in the upcoming season of NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” the network announced Wednesday.
Goldberg, who serves as moderator on ABC’s daytime talk show “The View,” will guest star on the Oct. 7 episode of the drama as Janette Grayson, a Department of Child Services supervisor put on trial when the agency comes under fire for their internal policies.
The episode, titled “Institutional Fail” will also feature “Orange Is the New Black’s” Jessica Pimental and “Unbroken’s” John Magaro as guest stars.
The long-running police procedural stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish and Peter Scanavino.
Executive producer Dick Wolf also announced at the 2015 Television Critics Association press tour last month the the series would participate in a four-way crossover event with “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Med” next February.
“Law & Order: SVU” returns with a two-hour season premiere Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
