‘True Blood’ Alum Rutina Wesley in Talks to Join ‘Arrow’ for Multi-Episode Arc (Exclusive)

Actress currently plays Reba McClane on NBC’s “Hannibal”

“True Blood” actress Rutina Wesley has joined The CW’s hit show “Arrow” for a multi-episode arc, TheWrap has learned.

She’ll play police officer Liza Warner, aka Lady Cop, who serves on an anti-vigilante task force.

Wesley joins other recently announced stars like “Teen Wolf” actor JR Bourne, whom TheWrap reported exclusively is taking on the role of DC comics villain Double Down for the series’ fourth season.

Neal McDonough has also joined Season 4 of “Arrow” to play the villain Damien Darhk, while the new season will also welcome Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific and Alexander Calvert as Anarky.

The series also stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards and Willa Holland, with John Barrowman and Paul Blackthorne.

Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter serve as executive producers on “Arrow.” It is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

“Arrow” returns for its fourth season Oct. 7 on The CW.

Wesley played Tara Thornton, the best friend of main character Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), on the HBO vampire drama “True Blood.” She also currently plays blind film processor Reba McClane on NBC’s “Hannibal,” who serves as the love interest of serial killer Francis Dolarhyde (Richard Armitage).

Wesley, who will soon be seen in Screen Gems’ thriller “The Perfect Guy,” is represented by Inspire Entertainment and SMGSB.
