CW Renews ‘Whose Line Is it Anyway?’

New 24-episode run for improv show will kick off in 2015

The CW has ordered 24 new half-hour episodes of “Whose Line Is it Anyway?”

The new run will debut in 2015, though no specific date or timeslot has been announced yet.

CW’s “Whose Line” features Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady and Colin Mochrie, playing improv games with a special guest each episode. Aisha Tyler hosts, doles out points and declares a winner each show.

The show has attracted guest stars Lauren Cohan (“The Walking Dead”), Misha Collins (“Supernatural”), Michael Weatherly (“NCIS”), NFL superstar Rob Gronkowski, Olympic gold medalist and commentator Tara Lipinski, Kevin McHale (“Glee”), Darren Criss (“Glee”), Olympic gold medalist and WNBA superstar Lisa Leslie and Kat Graham (“The Vampire Diaries”).

Based on the original U.K. format, which also spawned a previous incarnation in the U.S. that ran for eight seasons on ABC, “Whose Line” is executive produced by Dan Patterson, Mark Leveson, Jimmy Mulville, Stiles and Brady.

Co-created by Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, the show comes from Angst Productions and Hat Trick Productions.
