Joined by wife Jenny Mollen and comedian Tammy Pescatelli, they discuss stars who made it big as kids like Macauley Culkin, Lindsay Lohan, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Tara Reid
Jason Biggs and his wife, Jenny Mollen, were guests on Jenny McCarthy's new SiriusXM weekly radio show, “Dirty, Sexy, Funny.” They were joined by comedian Tammy Pescatelli for a segment McCarthy dubbed “Dick or Disaster?”
She ran down a list of stars who'd become famous while young to see how fame had changed them. Did they become “dicks” or were they absolute “disasters”?
Biggs knows a thing or two about that, as he started acting in his mid-teens on television and became hugely famous in his early 20s when “American Pie” hit theaters and became an instant comedy classic. And he's come under fire a few times for controversial comments he's made via social media; most recently after the Malaysa Airlines crash. But they didn't assess him.
Biggs described Bieber as “a dick en route to being a disaster.” The only reason he was't there yet, Biggs determined, was because he still has a successful career. Of Macauley Culkin, Mollen said, “I feel like he was a dick when Michael Jackson was making pillow versions of him, but now he's just a disaster.”
Overall, the panel was far more gentle with the women, except for one. Mollen didn't even answer the question directly about Lindsay Lohan, instead sharing a story. “I sat next to her in a club one time and she asked me my name like fourteen times,” she said.
On Britney Spears, Pescatelli said, “I think she gets taken advantage of by dicks. I think she just can't read them.” They gave passes to Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, despite the controversies both singers court, because they seem to be in control of their lives and careers. So they're neither dicks nor disasters. At least not yet.
Another pass for One Direction came largely because McCarthy's fiance, Donnie Wahlberg, is a member of New Kids on the Block, and if one boy group is filled with great guys, then they couldn't pass judgment on another, could they?
When the Jenner girls came up, or the “Kardashian babies” as the women called them, no one even got a chance to pass judgment on them. They couldn't stop making fun of Biggs for knowing their names, Kendall and Kylie. In fact, he was declared “a dick” for knowing.
As for Tara Reid, Biggs knows her personally and had only nice things to say about her. He applauded the ridiculous amount of success she's currently seeing for the equally ridiculous “Sharknado” film series. But he insisted that she “is not a dick at all … If at any point she was a mess, she was never a dick.”
