Jimmy Kimmel Investigates Hollywood Blvd. Superhero Brawl: ‘I Have to Get to the Bottom of This’ (Video)

The late night host talks to Chewbacca and Waldo about breaking up the fight between Catwoman-Batgirl and Mr. Incredible

Superheroes in the movies usually fight crime but superheroes on the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard were causing a crime on Tuesday. Now Jimmy Kimmel is on the case and is trying to figure out just what went down.

“I have to get to the bottom of this,” the late-night host said Wednesday night on his show. “I am kind of the Captain of the neighborhood watch around here.”

As TheWrap reported on Wedneday, the altercation occurred between a costumed Mr. Incredible and Batgirl, with both characters physically attacking one another. The violent skirmish was captured on video and shows Mr. Incredible throwing Batgirl to the ground. Important to note, it’s unclear if the female superhero is Batgirl or Catwoman. Most reports have referred to her as Batgirl, as did TheWrap, but Kimmel and guests called her Catwoman. Based on the video she seems to be a hybrid between the two superheroes.

On Wednesday’s show, Kimmel welcomed the three individuals who stepped in to break the fight up: Chewbacca, Waldo and RJ, a man who was out on the street selling CDs.

“I heard a scuffle between Catwoman and Mr. Incredible and all I heard was cursing,” Waldo told Kimmel. “I can’t say those words on TV.”

“I was very angry at what he did,” RJ said. “To see a man slam a woman to the ground is never appropriate.”

Kimmel told his audience that the police are currently offering a $100 for any information on who Mr. Incredible’s real identity is.

“Waldo, you’re an expert at finding people,” Kimmel said. “Where is Mr. Incredible?”

Councilman Mitch O’Farrell announced his intention to introduce measures next week that will address unwanted encounters between these characters, though he did not offer any specifics.
