“Live with Kelly & Michael” anchor Michael Strahan revealed to co-host Kelly Ripa Wednesday that he was astonished to read the news that he was joining “Good Morning America.”
“Once in a while, I see your name in the papers and I get excited. Once in a while!” Ripa teased.
“I saw my name in the papers too!” Strahan exclaimed. “I was surprised! Surprised! Yeah!”
TheWrap reported Tuesday, Strahan was joining ABC’s flagship morning show “Good Morning America.” Strahan would also continue to serve as co-host of “Live” as well as an analyst on “Fox NFL Sunday,” according to insiders.
“What’s happening?” she asked.
“Well, the big news is that I’m going to be on “GMA” now. But it’s somewhat surprising!” Strahan acknowledged.

“Like I went and had a meeting and talked about the possibility of doing something there and then I went to see the new movie with Samuel L. Jackson last night, ‘Captain America,’ And then I got out of the screening and I’m looking at my messages and the next thing I know, I’m on ‘Good Morning America’! But we’ve talked…”
“So are you going to do it?” Ripa pressed.
“I don’t know!” Strahan said.

“You know what, I read the papers, I am!” he added. “But this is what I do, this is me. This is my home right here, like, I love you. So no matter what, I go nowhere. This is my love. You are my love. This is my job. So don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here on “Live,” Okay?”
Ripa said she wants to know how many cups of coffee to have set out for him.
“I’m already busy enough!” Strahan conceded.
