Miley Cyrus has filled arenas across the globe since her “Bangerz Tour” started in February. Now she’s taking it a step further — by beaming her performances straight into fans’ homes.
On Thursday NBC announced “Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour,” a two-hour documentary special featuring backstage and performance footage from upcoming concerts at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain and the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
The network promises the behind-the-scenes event will, among other things, “examine what makes [Cyrus] such a global phenomenon.”
Her world tour comes on the heels of last years platinum-certified “Bangerz” album, which featured the Billboard chart-topping “Wrecking Ball.”
“There are few recording artists with the global success achieved by Miley Cyrus,” said NBC executive Paul Telegdy. “This unique special will offer an exclusive peek on how she engages with her crew and fans at one of her hugely popular concerts.”
“The Fault in our Stars” actress went on record saying, “Miley isn’t rude or mean or cruel to anyone in her actions. She just does herself. And regardless of whether you agree with what she’s doing or not, it’s none of your business what she does.”
“Miley Cyrus: Bangerz Tour” will air on Sunday, July 6 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
