TBS’ new “The Pete Holmes Show” debuted to slightly lower numbers than “Lopez Tonight,” the show that once occupied its midnight time slot.

Holmes’ show, which follows “Conan” Monday through Thursday, premiered Monday to 407,000 viewers, 245,000 of them in the key 18-49 demographic.

The final week of the “Lopez” show, which TBS canceled in 2011, had 424,000 viewers, 269,000 of them in the demo.

Holmes lost much of the total lead-in from “Conan” Monday but held on to most of the viewers in the key demo: Conan O’Brien‘s show had 782,000 viewers, 482,000 of them in the 18-49 group.

Lopez’s show was canceled after he voluntarily agreed to move from 11 p.m. to midnight to give O’Brien the better time slot when the former “Tonight Show” host arrived at TBS from NBC.
