Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Defends Justin Bieber: 'I Wish I Was As Successful' as the Fellow Canadian

Following Justin Bieber‘s Wednesday arrest in Toronto for an alleged assault on a limo driver late last year, the mayor of Canada's largest city spoke out in support of the troubled Canadian pop star. Ford, who's thus far survived his own legal and PR battles, made his first public remarks on Bieber's arrest on the Washington, D.C.-based talk radio show Sports Junkies.

The Globe and Mail reports that Ford initially refused to discuss the matter on the radio show saying it was up to the courts to decide. But Ford eventually gave his true thoughts — and it turns out, he's also a Belieber.

“He's a young guy, 19 years old,” the mayor said. “I wish I was as successful as he was.”
