Shia LaBeouf Faces Criminal Charges After Being Escorted From Broadway’s ‘Cabaret’ in Handcuffs (Updated)

Actor is being charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after he was being disruptive, smoking and appeared to be intoxicated, according to the NYPD

Shia LaBeouf was escorted out of Roundabout’s production of “Cabaret” at Studio 54 during the show’s intermission on Thursday night.

The 28-year-old actor was being disruptive during the first act of the performance, and smoking in the theater, TheWrap has confirmed. Police escorted him from the building during intermission in handcuffs.

Currently being held at the Midtown North police station, LaBeouf has been charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. A spokesperson for the NYPD told TheWrap that LaBeouf was “acting disorderly, smoking and appeared to be intoxicated inside the theater.”

Representatives for LaBeouf did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Tony-nominated star Benj Pasek commented on the incident, noting that he saw LaBeouf in tears as he was being escorted by six police officers.
