Producer of ABC's entire Thursday night lineup will cross networks to play herself on Mindy Kaling's Fox sitcom
Shonda Rhimes will add actress to her list of achievements with an appearance on “The Mindy Project.”
In an episode slated to appear early in the fall, Rhimes will play herself, Fox confirms. No further plot details have been made available about the guest spot, which is in keeping with the secrecy Rhimes holds around her own show, “Scandal.” The showrunner, creator and producer is responsible for ABC's entire upcoming Thursday lineup.
Rhimes says she is a huge fan of both Mindy Kaling and “The Mindy Project,” which kicks off its third season on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9:30/8:30c.
Shondaland Thursdays begin on ABC the next week with season premieres of “Grey's Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and new entry “How to Get Away With Murder.”
Rhimes’ appearance was first reported by TVLine.
