Syfy Greenlights Alien Terrorist Drama ‘Hunters’ From ‘Walking Dead’ Producer

Series from Gale Anne Hurd and Natalie Chaidez gets 13 episodes

Syfy has greenlit a new 13-episode scripted series, “Hunters,” from “Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd, the network announced on Wednesday.

The series is based on Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel “Alien Hunter” and will follow a secret government agency tracking a ruthless group of extraterrestrial terrorists. “Hunters,” which is only a working title at this point, is expected to premiere in 2016.

Hurd will executive produce with Natalie Chaidez (“Heroes”), who is also writing.

Universal Cable Productions will serve as the studio with Valhalla Entertainment as the production company.

Adding ‘Hunters’ to new series such as ‘The Expanse,’ ’12 Monkeys,’ and the miniseries ‘Childhood’s End,’ provides us with a formidable lineup of diverse, high-end science fiction.”
