The British actress joins a cast that includes Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright and James Marsden
Thandie Newton has signed on to play the madame of “Westworld.”
The “Crash” actress is joining the HBO drama pilot based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film about an amusement park gone mad. Newton will play the beautifully and brilliant Maeve Millay, who has a special gift for reading people and staying alive.
Her seen-it-all-before worldview will be thoroughly challenged on the pilot, about the dawn of artificial consciousness.
The Warner Bros. TV show's executive producers include J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub and Bryan Burk. “Person of Interest” executive producer Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy co-wrote the pilot, and will also executive produce.
