Jeff Millea’s family says he’s also showing improvement
Tracy Morgan continues to show signs of improvement, according to his publicist.
“Happy to pass along that Tracy has been upgraded to fair condition, which is a great improvement,” Morgan’s spokesman Lewis Kay said in a statement to TheWrap. “His personality is certainly starting to come back as well. Also, Jeff Millea’s family shared that he has been upgraded to fair condition as well.”
Morgan, Millea and two others were injured in a traffic collision after a tractor-trailer — operated by Walmart — reportedly slammed into the back of the limo bus they were traveling in on the New Jersey Turnpike on Jun. 7. The impact caused the bus to flip over, touching off a chain reaction crash.
Morgan sustained a number of injuries including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. His rep previously said he’s expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks.
Comedian James McNair, who performed under the name Jimmy Mack, was killed in the crash. The comedians returning from a comedy show in Delaware at the time of the collision.
The alleged driver of the truck, 35-year-old Kevin Roper of Jonesboro, Ga., has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. Roper pleaded not guilty on Jun. 11. He was released on $50,000 bail.
Walmart has said if the investigation determines that the company’s truck caused the deadly accident, it will take “full responsibility.”
