Lifetime’s Pageant-Coach Reality Show ‘Kim of Queens’ to Premiere in January

Series will feature pageant expert Kim Gravel as she grooms diamonds in the rough

Lifetime is going for the tiara with its newest reality offering.

The network has ordered the reality show — sorry, “docuseries” — “Kim of Queens,” which will center on Kim Gravel (pictured), billed as “one of the country’s most successful and outspoken pageant coaches,” the network said Thursday.

The show will follow Gravel as she looks for diamonds in the rough and works to transform them into confident young women.

“Along with the help of her mother Jo and sister Allisyn, Kim lives to polish local girls into future leaders, able to take the crown and rule the world,” Lifetime said of the series.

“Kim of Queens” will premiere Wednesday Jan. 1 at 10 p.m., before moving to Tuesday nights at 10 following Lifetime’s “Dance Moms.”

“While applying her homegrown philosophy that beauty is only skin deep, Kim, with her larger-than-life personality that is peppered with tough love and plenty of humor, searches for young talent that many might pass over on first glance,” Lifetime said of the series. “As Kim likes to say, ‘You can wear a burlap sack, girl; but if you got it on the inside, it shines on the outside.”
