‘Marvel’s Inhumans’ Has a Zero Score on Rotten Tomatoes

ABC series began a two-week IMAX run over the weekend, and critics have not been kind

“Marvel’s Inhumans” could probably stand to build a bit of positive buzz before its ABC launch later this month.

The drama series’ first two episodes premiered in IMAX theaters over the weekend, and critics don’t appear to be impressed, as the series currently has a zero score on review-aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

The score is currently based on 12 reviews, all of which are negative, although that numeral could improve as more appraisals pop up closer to the show’s two-hour ABC premiere on Sept. 29.

“Inhumans,” which continues its two-week IMAX run, landed in 18th place at the box office over the weekend with $1.5 million from 393 screens.

Viewers took to Twitter over the weekend to share their thoughts on the show, and the reactions ran the gamut from enthusiastic to unimpressed, although there was certainly no shortage of the latter.

The project has been subject to criticism since the first trailers were released earlier this summer, with venom especially aimed at the wig worn by Medusa (Serinda Swan) that some viewers mocked as appearing fake.

Channing Dungey, entertainment president for the network, acknowledged at a press event earlier this month that the show initially received negative fan reaction to the wig. She added that the show is “still a work in progress.”

“Marvel’s Inhumans” is in IMAX now for a two-week run before its two-hour ABC launch on Sept. 29.
