Superhero worlds are colliding this season on the CW for a highly-anticipated “Arrow” and “The Flash” crossover event, and TheWrap has a peek at how the episodes were filmed, with a little help from one of the series’ stars.

Emily Bett Rickards plays Felicity Smoak, Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) tech-savy pal turned love interest, on “Arrow,” but in real life she partnered up with TheWrap to document the making of the superhero showdown.

Starling City’s hooded hero and Central City’s up-and-coming super-speedster are friends right now, but if the title of the crossover episode — “Flash vs Arrow” — is any indication, they’re scheduled to square off against each other later on in their respective seasons.

In Wednesday’s Season 3 premiere, Oliver, Felicity and friends are tasked with taking down a new incarnation of Count Vertigo (Peter Stromare). In a clip from the episode, the new villain is seen injecting Arrow with a dangerous dose of a powerful psychedelic, causing him to literally go to war with himself.

In pictures from set, however, Amell looks much more at peace.

Rickards documented the making of the crossover episodes and shared exclusive photos she took on the set, in the trailers and behind the scenes. If her great snapshots are any indication, the filming of the crossover episode included plenty of late nights, stunt coordination and pun-filled on-set antics.
