Jim Carrey wasn’t afraid to look dumb alongside Jeff Daniels on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
The “Dumb and Dumber To” star slipped and fell during his routine involving singing, dancing and a scarf as he presented the award for best pop video.

“I meant to do that,” Carrey said after popping back up on his feet.
“It was planned,” Daniels added. “We rehearsed that.”

Carrey, of course, embraced the gaffe, and dove back onto the floor before reading the nominees, including Pharrell Williams, Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo, Avicii and Ariana Grande, whose “Problem” music video was named the winner.
“Dumb and Dumber To” takes place 20 years after the original comedy hit, and premieres in theaters on Nov. 14 — just in time for award season.
